Green Square to city

This bike link connects Green Square and residents of Waterloo, Alexandria and Redfern with the City Centre and provides a congestion free option for commuters.

Bi-directional separated cycleways on Allen, Mandible and Short streets lead on to the George Street cycleway in Waterloo which continues through Redfern to Cleveland Street.

From there bike riders can take the shared paths in Prince Alfred Park, Chalmers Street and Elizabeth Street and on through Belmore Park to reach the City Centre. The proposed separated cycleway along Castlereagh Street will improve this connection.

With 22,000 new jobs and 40,000 new residents projected by 2030, Green Square will become Sydney’s fastest growing area.

The design was prepared in consultation with the Roads and Maritime Services, State Transit Authority, Redfern George Street Fire Brigade, the Department of Housing NSW and surrounding residents and businesses.
