Elizabeth and Chalmers Street shared path

Sydney cycleways shared pathWe have created a shared path along Elizabeth and Chalmers Street. The path begins on Elizabeth Street at the intersection with Hay Street and joins the Prince Alfred Park shared path on Chalmers Street.

The shared path includes a number of advisory dismount zones at intersections, including the pedestrian crossing at Eddy Avenue and at the Devonshire Street tunnel exit on Chalmers Street. These are necessary due to the large volume of pedestrians in these areas.

The shared path is indicated with blue line marking and the dismount zones clearly shown with signage and markings on the path. The City asks bike riders to use shared path responsibly, ring their bell to alert others of their presence and give way to pedestrians at all times.

In the coming weeks, our Share the Path program will be onsite to educate pedestrians and bike riders about the new shared path. Follow us on Facebook or Twitter for the latest updates and look out for us on your journey.
