Free Cycling Courses
Whether you ride regularly or are just starting out, the City of Sydney offers a range of FREE cycling courses for all abilities. The courses are run by expert instructors to help you get the most out of your cycling:
Bike Care and Maintenance Course
Starting at the beginning – what you need to know to ease your pedalling and save money. Almost all regular riders learn a lot too.
Cycling in the City Course
The Cycling in the City course is designed to develop the skills and confidence required to be an effective city rider.
Tailored for those with lower confidence and/or fitness levels, this course runs at a slower pace.
Cycling in the City: Women’s Only
The Women’s Only course is run by female instructors at the Sydney Park Cycling Centre.
Family Cycling Course
Designed specifically for families with children aged 7 and above. Adults must be able to ride and kids must be able to ride without training wheels.
Designed to address the specific needs of 8-10 year olds, our junior program focuses on the skills junior cyclists need to use a bike safely and harmoniously on shared paths and footpaths. The program is offered in an excursion day format to visiting school groups of up to 30 students at a time at Sydney Park. The course is available free to schools in the City of Sydney. Balance Bike Clinics
Parents can get free expert help teaching their child to ride with balance bikes and without training wheels at the Sydney Park Cycling Centre Balance Bike Clinic. Held every Saturday from 11am, the sessions are staffed by experienced professional instructors who give advice and provide equipment to help kids get pedalling safely on two wheels. No need to book, just turn up. Extra sessions are being held over the Summer holidays.
