Go! Alliance in collaboration with Sydney Cyclist and the Bicycle Film Festival is sponsoring a unique retrospective of Australian cycling history during the Sydney Bicycle Film Festival on Saturday.
The evening will feature a talk and slide show by famous cycling historian Jim Fitzpatrick and a short film on the historic 1912 Satchel Ride route from Adelaide to Sydney and plans for bringing it back to life.
We are also inviting all those with pre-1930′s bicycles to come and put them on show. Period costume or tweed is encouraged. Admission is included in the film festival’s $15 entry ticket fee for program #5. This ticket must be purchased for entry.
The festival program that follows immediately afterwards includes some wonderful films including:
Bikes, Breads and Wine: L’Eroica
“Italy’s retro bike race is a cycling classic. Running on gravel roads with 80’s bikes, woollen jerseys and fuelled by rich Italian food and wine, the glorious L’Eroica race captures the golden era of cycling.” – Guardian U.K.
The film follows cycling greats of the past, and some of the younger enthusiasts for an excellent view of the magical land and race.
